In our post-modern culture, there are plenty of people who have no concept of who God is. So when they begin searching for him, how will they know they have found him? And what will they find when they go looking? Perhaps God is like a cosmic cop who is sitting around waiting to punish us for every bad thought and action. Or maybe he is a benevolent butler ready to grant our every wish. Some believe he is like a retired engineer – he created the world but doesn’t interact with it any more. And some want to find an overindulgent grandfather who would never send them to time-out, no matter what they do. This month we will look to the Bible to find out the truth about who God is and how he wants to relate to us. Each week we will shatter some common misconceptions of God.
